Fondeka Business API

Payment API for small businesses, students and startups

Built for small businesses, students, startups that don’t yet have company documents, or anyone who wants to turn an idea into a product and launch quickly.

Integrate Mobile Money and crypto collections and payouts into your app or website with a REST payment API built in DR Congo for supported African markets.

A payment gateway alternative for early-stage projects

A new business, unfinished company paperwork or a need for local payment methods can make a standard payment gateway difficult to access. Explore Fondeka for your project, then check support for your country, activity and payment flow before going live.

Who can build with the payment API?

Small businesses and independent sellers

Connect customer payments to your own website or app, with local payment methods available for your market.

Students and independent developers

Build a student project, prototype or MVP. Use sandbox payments to develop your integration without moving real money.

Startups without company documents yet

Prepare your integration while your business is taking shape. Check account verification and live-payment eligibility for your situation.

Freelancers and creators

Add a payment flow to a service, digital product or custom application from the early stages of your business.

What the REST payment API provides

Collections and payouts

Collect from customers and send payouts through the Mobile Money and crypto routes supported by your account and market.

Sandbox integration testing

Develop with separate sandbox credentials and simulated payments before you submit real transactions.

Payment status and webhooks

Follow payment references and receive signed webhook events so your application can act on verified payment outcomes.

Starting without company documents

Fondeka is designed to include early-stage projects while company registration papers are still in preparation. Complete the required account and identity verification, check API access conditions and confirm supported payment routes. Start with sandbox testing and check live-payment availability before accepting customer payments.

From an idea to a payment integration

  1. Create or sign in to your Fondeka account and complete the required account verification.
  2. Open the Business portal, check API access conditions and create sandbox credentials.
  3. Follow the REST API guides to test collections, payouts and your webhook receiver.
  4. Check supported countries, payment methods, fees and limits. Move to live credentials when Fondeka has enabled live payments for the service.

Payment API access: your questions answered

Can I start integrating a payment API without a registered company?

Fondeka is built to include startups that do not yet have company documents. You can prepare your project and use sandbox testing after obtaining API access. Real payments remain subject to account verification, access conditions and live availability.

Can students, individuals and freelancers use the payment API?

The payment API is designed for small businesses, students, independent developers and early-stage founders, as well as established teams. Check the requirements for your account, activity and country in the Business portal.

What if another payment gateway does not accept my project?

Fondeka may be an option when a conventional gateway does not fit your business stage or supported market. Another provider’s refusal does not determine your Fondeka eligibility. Check your activity and country with Fondeka support before integrating live payments.

Which payment methods can I integrate?

The published REST API guides cover Mobile Money and crypto collections and payouts. Available methods, networks, currencies and settlement options depend on your country and the active routes shown in the Business portal.

Is the payment API available in DR Congo and across Africa?

Fondeka is built in DR Congo for supported African markets. Coverage varies by country, payment method, network and transaction direction. Check the current catalog rather than assuming every method works in every country.

Can I test the API without moving real money?

Yes. Sandbox credentials use simulated payments. The guides include collection and payout examples, payment status checks and webhook handling. Sandbox results do not guarantee live route availability.

What does API access cost?

The Business portal shows the current Business Tools or individual API access offer, together with transaction fees and limits. Review access pricing and transaction fees separately before launching your payment integration.

Where can I find the REST API documentation?

Start with the API guides, then use the published quickstart, OpenAPI reference, sandbox Postman collection and go-live guide. The examples cover Node.js, Python, PHP and cURL.
